Sales and Customer Service

Brandon Foster

Brandon Foster
Brandon is the senior customer service representative, but also has a lot of experience rebuilding parts - particularly electrical components, steering boxes and water pumps. Since joining KMC in 2004, he's picked up quite a bit of British car knowledge on the job and is often referred to as the 'stump meister'. An "Air Cooled" Volkswagen aficionado, Brandon's dream car is a 356 Porsche, although anything fast makes his day.

Service and Restoration

Ian MacLeod Service Mgr @ KMCIain MacLeod,
Service Manager, Master Carchaeologist
Iain oversees service projects at Kip Motor with engine and gearbox rebuilding amongst his specialties. He has experienced all elements of restoration and service during his career at KMC, and even occasionally backs up telephones during peak season. He first joined KMC in 1999 as a customer service representative before moving into the service & restoration end of the operation. Prior to joining KMC, he worked in the retail auto parts industry. Born in Quebec, Iain is bilingual and can handle calls from French speaking customers. His wish list car is a 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda convertible - the epitome vehicle of the 70's.

Juan Garcia,
Master Carchaeologist

First coming to Kip Motor as a body and paint apprentice, Juan has spent his years with KMC focused on honing his skills in the art of body restoration. He is now a Master Carchaeologist in charge of all metalwork, bodywork and painting for our restoration projects.

Giovanni "GTO" Cleghorn
Journeyman Carchaeologist

Certified in Automotive & Diesel Technologies, Gio is passionate about servicing and repairing rare and classic automobiles that many people only hear or read about. Gio is instrumental in the Service Department taking pride in preserving fine antique vehicles. His dream car is a '95/'96 Mazda Cosmo Eunos, the last production of the three rotor Wankel engine by Mazda which Gio states as a simply elegant piece of engineering. Owning a 1972 Corvette Stingray T-Top, is on his other wish list.

Bob MacLeod,
Master Carcheologist and Restoration Technician

After fourteen years of answering technical and parts questions, Bob retired May 2012 from Kip Motor Company to tinker on his own projects - namely his Corvette, Studebakers and collection of model aircraft. He returned to KMC in 2014 to work part time on our restoration projects. A native of New England, Bob migrated around North America in his career as a computer service and support technician before joining Kip Motor Company in 1998.

Nathaniel Holman
Apprentice Carchaeologist &
Aero Technician
Nathaniel joined Kip Motor Company in the spring of 2016, assisting in parts production. Possessing a knack for anything mechanical and the ability to understand the 'why things work', he quickly advanced to working on projects for the Aero Division working on magnetos and assisting in rebuilding early aero engines, especially Curtiss. With an affinity for Alfa Romeo's, he can also be found reassembling our many restoration projects.

Lloyd Faust
Master Carchaeologist & Chief Engineer Aero Division
Lloyd has been around the British auto  industry longer than Kip and is absolutely fluent in anything MG. Never too old to learn new tricks, he is "taking off" in a new direction, and has added Sopwith to his vernacular. He can now be found knee deep in 100 year old engineering drawings as lead engineer is the production of our Sopwith 1½ Strutter.

Olin Knudsen
Chief Draftsman, Aero Division

A retired Air Force Chaplain, Olin assists the Aero Division in the production of the Sopwith aeroplanes and components. Between his pastoral duties, family, and mission trips, Olin can be found attending air shows with Kip - Oshkosh, Dayton, and NWOC because he can walk the talk!

Dave Spradling
Director, Research & Development
A very talented artisan, Dave holds degrees in Math and Physics from East Texas State University. Joining KMC in July of 1991, his primary responsibilities of product development and manufacturing consume most of his time, although his technical and training skills are likely to be engaged during any phase of vehicle troubleshooting,  restoration and repair.

Gayle MacLeod
Master Carchaeologist

An avid Studebaker fan, Gayle joined KMC in 2006 as an apprentice with Dave manufacturing rubber and plastic authentic reproductions. With her attention to detail (just like a woman) KMC has produced some complicated lamp assemblies and bonnet badges and she has pretty much taken over the kitchen cooking up polymers. She also works out in the upholstery department assembling interior kits and does a fine job making wiring harnesses. A classic pre-war sedan; Packard, Pierce Arrow or Studebaker would make her happy. Are you listening Bob?

Kip Lankenau (aka Yoda)
Chief Carchaeologist &
Restoration Manager

Founder and driving force behind KMC, Kip is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Business Administration. A member of the Antique Automobile Club of America by the age of five, antique automobiles and history are his lifelong passion.

He remains very active, currently as Advisor for the Makade Aki Chapter of the Order of the Arrow. Kip has served on the board of directors of a number of charitable and other groups, including the British Motor Trade Association and as Director of National Activities, Central Division for the Antique Automobile Club of America, also having served several terms as President of the Texas Region AACA. It is not uncommon to find him on the phone with Rolls-Royce or the National Museum of the United States Air Force, or similar organizations, discussing issues with various aviation artifacts or just walking them through the proper procedure for starting an early aero engine.

Debra Lankenau
A graduate of Texas A&M University, Debra's responsibilities include: marketing, web-site management and event coordination.
For years, her daily driver was a Humber Super Snipe Series III, although on weekends she might be spotted in her Metropolitan convertible or the family 1957 Lincoln Premier (lots of space for the kids when they were little). Debra enjoys coordinating the All British & European Car Day held annually in Dallas as well as national meets and tours for the Texas Region, AACA. She to is active in scouting, serving as Webmaster for Blackland Prairie District and leading Venture Crew 759, a coed, high-adventure group for teens 14-21 through Boy Scouts of America. In her spare time, she serves as a volunteer staffing leadership training for adults (WoodBadge) and youth (NAYLE) for BSA.

Aaron Noble,
Social Media Specialist

Studying as a marketing major at UT at Dallas, Aaron works part time at Kip Motor in a variety of jobs from product photography, content provider for social media outlets and marketing. An Eagle Scout, Aaron is passionate about photography, competitive sailing, and serving as a pit crew member for a Mazda prototype lite race car group. His dream car is the Pagani Huayra because it is the definition of performance combined with hand made luxury.

Vladimir Lankenau
Rigger, Aero Division

Taking Automotive Technologies in High School, Vlad is a natural when it comes to mechanicals. His daily driver is a MG Midget (he looks way cool driving it), and he's already replaced the head and transmission. He helps out at the big shows as the Rigger, Technology Meister, and gopher. A Life Scout, Vladimir has completed his Eagle project and awaiting his Eagle Board of Review.

Master Yoda
The company's mascot, Yoda is responsible for mediation moments when we are stumped, frustrated, or need a break through on troubleshooting a complex problem. We keep hearing him mumble, "One with the car".

Our resident professor, Dick assists KMC with historic and technical research, consulting and general tinkering.  He owns a plethora of British cars -- Austin, Jaguar, Morris, Morgan, Riley, Triumph, etc. etc., etc.. Each September you'll  find Dick headed to England for Beaulieu, the giant autojumble near Southhampton, to scavenge for rare British parts, books, and memorabilia.

Steve Traudt, Retired

His true love is collecting Hudson's and attending Hudson Club meets throughout the US.

Jack Hartline - In Memoriam
Jack lost his courageous battle fighting Lymphoma on February 12, 2004. His attention to detail, dedication to the preservation of British vehicles, camaraderie and sense of humor is greatly be missed here at Kip Motor Company.

Sandra C. Lankenau - In Memoriam
The matriarch of KMC, Sandra was responsible for the production of convertible tops and interior components (carpets, panel & upholstery kits, headlinings, & etc.) from 1995 to 2007. Her seamstress skills originated from her love of making her own clothes in high school -- including her prom dress!  Sandra, an Alzheimer's victim, passed peacefully at her home on November 10, 2010 among family members. Our deepest gratitude to MJ Home Health Care and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for the loving care they provided Sandy during her final months and the friends and family who came to sing, make music, and pray for her and Jerry.
